SA premier to visit China with PM

South Australian Premier Jay Weatherill is to join the prime minister's business delegation to visit China next month.

Mr Weatherill says he will join the delegation on April 10 and 11 and is in the process of finalising appointments with business and government officials.

"This is about forging stronger ties in relation to our investment and trade opportunities.

"The possibilities are obviously enormous with China, whether it be international students, tourism, agribusiness or our resources and energy sector.

"All of those opportunities are growing at an extraordinary rate."

Mr Weatherill said South Australia already had a well developed strategy in relation to China and would take advantage of the opportunities presented by the prime ministerial delegation as well as exploring a range of its own leads and meetings.

Other state premiers and trade ministers are also expected to joint the delegation for different periods.
