More than 1800 extra elective surgical procedures a year will be possible at an Adelaide public hospital when its orthopaedic services move early next year, the state government says.
Health Minister Jack Snelling says elective surgery wait times for Modbury Hospital patients will drop significantly when Lyell McEwin Hospital takes over its orthopaedic services.
"This will give north and north-eastern residents faster access to elective surgery with fewer delays," Mr Snelling said on Wednesday.
