Multi-vehicle crash leaves one person trapped in Ryde

A woman has been rushed to hospital in a serious condition after a crash between two buses, two cars and a truck in Sydney's northwest.

The serious crash happened about 10.15am and shut off nearly every lane on Church Street in Ryde.

The unconscious woman was trapped in her vehicle before being taken by road to Royal North Shore Hospital.

9News helicopter footage showed a bus had slammed into a traffic light and a truck crushed against its side.

Traffic was backed up for several kilometres in the wake of the crash.

Six people were assessed at the scene, a NSW Ambulance spokesperson confirmed to 9News.

Three were taken to Concord Hospital with minor injuries in stable conditions.
