Superhero star Ryan Reynolds has taken to Facebook to reveal the first person who got to see Deadpool - a young boy with cancer.

"Ladies, gentlemen, boys and girls. This is my friend, Connor McGrath. He's quite possibly the biggest #Deadpool fan on earth. He was also the first person ever to see the Deadpool film. Like Wade Wilson, Connor's trying to put cancer in his rearview mirror," the actor wrote on Facebook.

Reynolds revealed he had travelled to Edmonton in Canada to watch a special screening of the film with the teenager, who is in hospital receiving treatment for cancer.

"He's my friend. I know lots of celebrities jump up and down touting a cause - and maybe I'm no different. But holy frozen s--t-slithers, I love this kid," Reynolds wrote.

The actor also encouraged fans to donate to a crowdfunding page for Connor, who needs financial support to undergo an experimental treatment.
