Neighbours rescue deputy lord mayor and husband from house fire
Neighbours have come to the rescue of Parramatta's deputy lord mayor after hearing her screaming for help when her home went up in flames.
Deputy Lord Mayor Patricia Prociv and her husband were in their Rosehill house when the fire started this afternoon.
Neighbours risked everything and ran to their rescue.

They fought their way into the home to bring the couple out.
Others used garden hoses to tackle the inferno.
"We heard the lady, our neighbour scream very loud, 'help, help, help' and then we came outside and the smoke was everywhere," one neighbour said.

The blaze engulfed the house in Rosehill but no one was injured. 9News
Fire crews battled for 90 minutes to bring the blaze under control.
"It's a two level house with an attic room which became involved in the fire, made it very dangerous for people to be inside," Paul Collis from Fire and Rescue NSW said.
Provic has been a councillor in Parramatta since 2017 and was elected as deputy lord mayor in September last year.

She told 9News she was too distraught to speak on camera but was thankful they made it out safely.
The fire has mostly been contained.
The cause is still unclear but police say it's not suspicious.
