UFC fighter Ronda Rousey has taken to Instagram to apologise for accidentally sharing a photo of herself that had been edited to make her arms look smaller.

Rousey shared the photo earlier today to promote the outfit she wore on The Tonight Show with Jimmy Fallon last night.

Nine hours later, she shared the photo again, this time alongside a second unedited version of the image.

“I have to make an apology to everyone - I was sent a picture to share on social for Fallon that was altered without me knowing to make my arms look smaller,” Rousey wrote below the image.

“I won't say by who - I know it was done with severely misplaced positive intentions - but this goes against everything I believe and I am extremely proud of every inch of my body.

“I can assure you all it will never happen again. I could not be more appalled and hope you all forgive me.”

In the edited version of the photo, Rousey’s right arm is visibly thinner than in the undoctored photo.
