Robb up for international policy gong

Coalition MPs have applauded Trade Minister Andrew Robb after they were told he has been nominated for an international award for his policy making skills.

Mr Robb, who has secured free-trade agreements with major trading partners, is up for the gold standard award for international policy-maker of the year by Public Affairs Asia.

Prime Minister Malcolm Turnbull recognised the "outstanding achievement" during parliament's question time on Thursday.
