Woman punches driver in road rage attack

A woman has been caught on camera punching another driver during a road rage incident in Melbourne.

9NEWS understands the attack occurred on Wednesday morning on Montague Street at the Kings Way exit ramp.

The woman, who stops her car in the middle of the road, gets out of her vehicle and approaches the other driver.

"Oh, she's going to rumble now!" the man, filming the video, in a nearby car can be heard saying.

The woman then opens the other driver's car door and begins to hit him.

The altercation doesn't last long though, with someone stepping in to break up the disagreement.

The woman then walks back to her car.

It's unclear what sparked the altercation.

9NEWS has contacted Victoria Police in relation to the attack but it’s not yet known if the incident was reported to authorities.
