Richmond tragic pens rap song to honour team's finals charge

Powered by

Tigers tragic Jake Thomas has found a unique way to celebrate his team’s charge through the AFL finals, penning a rap song in their honour.

The tune has become an underground hit; so much so, Jake has earned an audience with music guru Molly Meldrum.

The construction worker came up with his rap in the lead-up to the Tigers' thumping qualifying final win over Geelong.

A video posted to Facebook quickly racked up nearly 50,000 views.

Jake admits his rapping has always been a part-time hobby.

"I’ve done a few for mates' birthdays, round one one year, but not properly," he said.

The Tigers fanatic today met entertainment icon Meldrum, whose famous front wall is now decorated with Richmond artwork for the finals.

Jake's raps got the tick of approval, with Meldrum declaring the Tiger fan's work as "amazing".
