More than 100 children and staff from an inner Sydney childcare centre have been given the all-clear after a staff member was recently diagnosed with tuberculosis.

NSW Health announced that no cases of active TB were identified at the centre.

Screenings were carried out two weeks ago on people who were at the Surry Hills centre in December and January.

Up to 15 staff and 92 children from 78 families were at the centre in that time.

The staff member who was diagnosed with TB is being treated.

NSW has about 300 to 400 cases of tuberculosis a year, NSW Health said.
