Kittens plucked from drain after being trapped for hours

Three kittens have been plucked to safety from a drain after a massive rescue effort in Belmont, east of Perth.
The Fire Services’ Urban Search and Rescue crews worked for more than four hours on the delicate operation, using hi-tech cameras and an excavator to try and locate the trio.
The kittens were finally rescued to just before 4pm.

It is believed the felines had been trapped three metres underground for up to five days.
