Report tips lower Aust economic growth

A new economic report has tipped the Australian economy to grow less over the next year than official treasury forecasts.

The University of Adelaide's Centre for Economic Studies says the national economy will grow by two per cent in 2015/16, below the federal treasury forecast of 2.75 per cent.

"Ongoing declining terms of trade, further falls in mining investment and a slowdown in the Chinese economy are expected to continue to dampen the Australian economy over the next couple of years," the centre's executive director Michael O'Neil said.

The report will be released on Friday and says the state, national and global economies have entered a period of heightened uncertainty.

It says the turmoil in Greece is also unsettling global markets and causing disruption in the broader global economy, including Australia.
