Ratepayer-funded YouTube musical used to make Melbourne parking inspectors more likeable

Melbourne City Council is so concerned about the continued abuse of parking inspectors it has spent $20,000 on a YouTube video in an effort to soften their image.

The four-and-a-half minute video features a song and dance number explaining that parking inspectors "can't just make a ticket disappear".

Lord Mayor Robert Doyle believes the video is money well spent, saying businesses around Melbourne spend five times that amount for weekend team-building exercises.
