RAM trucks recalled over fears airbags won't deploy
More than 150 RAM trucks have been recalled over fears the airbags could fail to deploy in the event of a crash.
A manufacturer's defect in the welding on the steering column could fail to send a signal to the airbags, which could stop them from deploying in a crash.
In total, 166 affected RAM 1500 DT trucks have been recalled.

Trucks with the model years 2023 and 2024 are affected.
The 2023 RAM 1500 has a kerb weight of 2550 kg.
According to the Australian Government's vehicle recalls, in the event of an accident, the airbag not deploying as intended could increase the risk of injury or death to vehicle occupants.

Owners of the affected trucks should contact their RAM dealer to have the steering column control module inspected and replaced free of charge.
RAM Australia will contact owners of the affected vehicles in writing.
Owners of affected vehicles will also be contacted in writing by RAM Australia.
