Queenslanders 'flocking' to vote One Nation: poll

Support for Pauline Hanson's One Nation has risen in Queensland ahead of this month's state election.

A third of voters would support minor parties or independents, and neither of the major parties are likely to nab a majority win, a Galaxy poll published in The Courier-Mail shows.

According to the poll, One Nation's vote has risen from 15 per cent to 18 per cent in the past three months.

Support for the Liberal National Party has fallen to 32 per cent and the Labor vote is unmoved at 35 per cent, the poll suggests. 

The poll was conducted ahead of the state election on November 25, which Premier Annastacia Palaszczuk called on October 25. 

Ms Palaszczuk will take on opposition leader Tim Nicholls in the election, with ousted One Nation Senator Malcolm Roberts planning to stand for One Nation in the seat of Ipswich. 

Last month, Mr Roberts was one of five federal politicians the High Court disqualified from sitting in parliament due to dual citizenship issues.

After the ruling, Ms Hanson declared Mr Roberts would run in Ipswich, and called him a "great man". 

"The Queensland state leader Steve Dickson is over the moon. He's so delighted about having an experienced candidate like Malcolm Roberts to stand for the seat of Ipswich."

Labor's Jennifer Howard currently holds Ipswich with a 16 per cent margin under new electoral boundaries.

She's labelled Mr Roberts as "a blow-in" who is treating the seat of Ipswich as a "consolation prize".

"Malcolm's not from this community, he doesn't represent this community and he doesn't represent our values," Ms Howard said.
