Queensland woman swims through shark-infested waters to find help after fracturing bones in fall

A woman has swum through shark-infested waters to find help after fracturing her pelvis, leg and back when she fell from a lookout on a remote Queensland island.
The 55-year-old nurse from Queensland fell from a lookout at Murray Island, in the Torres Strait, last Saturday.
"She swam around to the other side of the island and some guys helped her out of the water and transported to the healthcare centre, where she works," Queensland Ambulance Service paramedic David Cameron told the ABC.
Despite the pain, Mr Cameron confirmed she was in good spirits.
"There are sharks in the area, you can see them from the sky as you fly in," he said.
"I think she knows how lucky she was."
The woman is recovering in Cairns Hospital.
