Queenslander immediately regrets braking for wildlife

A Queensland driver was filled with immediate regret when a four-wheel drive slammed into the back of his ute after he slowed down for an animal on the road.

In the video recorded on the night of November 6 in Arana Hill, north of Brisbane, a driver slows for a small animal making a dash across the street.

Speaking on hands free at the time of the crash, the driver blows his horn to alert the wildlife and slams the brakes before coming to a sudden stop.

Suddenly he screams as the car following him — driven by a P-plater — runs up the back of his ute.

"F---ing idiot," the driver yells.

"Have you just had an accident?" the man on the speaker asks. "Are you alright? You Okay?"

"Yeah I'm alright…someone just rode up my f---ing arse!"

The driver also had a rear-camera that recorded the impact from behind.

It is a hard lesson that reminds all drivers to keep a safe distance.

The footage was posted on the Facebook page Dashcam Owners Australia today.

Queensland Police have been contacted about the incident.
