Queensland snake catcher's tricky removal of carpet python mother from her eggs

A Queensland snake catcher came across quite the mother lode on a call-out to remove a carpet python from a Sunshine Coast property.

Max Jackson of Sunshine Coast Snake Catchers was called to a property at Dicky Beach to relocate a carpet python from the property.

The two-metre long carpet python had nested near some children's play equipment and the owner understandably wanted to ensure the safety of their children.

But when Mr Jackson went to relocate the snake, he found quite an "eggcellent" surprise.

"I've noticed that she's actually sitting on a clutch of eggs," Mr Jackson said, in a video posted to Facebook.

"It'll be a bit of a delicate removal getting her out, because we don't want to disturb these eggs too much."

As Mr Jackson pulls the snake out, she continues to clutch onto a soccer-ball size set of the eggs.

He then puts the eggs into a container and handles the snake into a blue bag.

"The eggs will be artificially incubated and released back into the wild once hatched," Mr Jackson wrote on Facebook.
