A shipping container house on Queensland's Stradbroke Island is set to fetch over a million dollars on the real estate market, despite its petite size.

Chris Ransley from Ray White Stradbroke Island said it's the perfect property for embracing the Stradbroke Island lifestyle, and it's attracting eager buyers after a change of pace.

"A modern contemporary Straddie Beach shack, just without the maintenance," Mr Ransley said.

"Shipping container, bit of an add on. High ceilings, nicely dressed, fully insulated as you can imagine and all the bells and whistles."

The pint-sized property is close to Point Lookout town and just five minutes' walk to the beach.

"There's no traffic, no road noise. You feel like you've got the place to yourself," Mr Ransley said.

He added many buyers were ditching the city for island life, with the COVID-19 pandemic providing greater opportunities to work from home.

"A lot of owners are moving over now, setting up the zoom room and hitting the Brisbane office when they need to."
