Police investigate Queensland driver's gender reveal burnouts

Gender reveal parties are as popular as ever, but one Queensland parent-to-be's celebration may be memorable for all of the wrong reasons.

The person hopped into their red Holden Commodore VP just before 11.30am on Saturday and performed a few burnouts to announce their baby's impending arrival.

Dashcam footage from nearby drivers captured blue smoke coming from the car's tyres, which revealed the driver is expecting a boy.

This video is now the subject of a Queensland Police investigation.

Police have released the video to the public, as a part of an appeal for information about the "dangerous operation of a vehicle" in the Logan City suburb of Marsden.

"The vehicle conducted a 'burn-out' on Burrinjuck Street and then Timberlee Drive, creating excessive noise and blue smoke which obstructed the visibility of other motorists on the public roadway," Queensland Police said in a statement.

A group of people gathered nearby to take photos and videos.

One of the people who filmed the burnouts on their dashcam complained the blue smoke made it hard to drive in the street.

"You can't drive at the moment," the person said in the video.

"Look what they've done to the road".

Police are now appealing to anyone who has information to come forward.
