The man accused of killing a 38-year-old father in a Surfers Paradise apartment will fight the murder charge, his lawyer said.

“The facts are very scant at the moment. It’s alleged that my client has murdered another person that he knows,” defence lawyer Campbell MacCallum said.

“It’s difficult to say what the full allegations are but certainly my client’s very distressed at the moment as with the family of the deceased.”

He said he had been unable to see Mr Marius last night having been denied entry to the Southport watchhouse but his client “certainly will be fighting the murder charge”.

Mr Marius did not apply for bail during a court mention today and will remain in custody until his next court appearance.

Coskun Marius is extradited to Queensland to face murder charges. 9news
