Car hits pedestrians in Brisbane CBD

A car has hit a number of pedestrians in Brisbane's CBD this afternoon.

Three people were assessed by paramedics for minor injuries after being hit by the car on George Street near the top end of Queen Street Mall.

They had been crossing the road by the Treasury Casino when they were struck.

Hundreds of people, many there for the weekly farmers market, watched on as at least one of the injured received first aid in the street.

Police do not believe the crash was deliberate.

The driver has been treated for shock.

All four people were taken to hospital in a stable condition.

Police are investigating the cause of the crash.

George Street was closed between Adelaide and Elizabeth streets.
