These are Queensland's most dangerous intersections
Queensland’s most dangerous intersections have been revealed and nine of the top 10 are in the state’s south-east.
The T-intersection of Greenbank Road and Mount Lindesay Highway at North Maclean in Logan was the worst spot in the greater Brisbane area – and the worst across the state overall.
Signals are now being added to the intersection and a new service road is being built.
“This will go a long way to reducing the number of serious crashes,” RACQ Head of Public Policy Rebecca Michael said.
The data was collected by the Department of Transport and Main Roads between July 2014 and June 2017 and analysed by RACQ.
Dr Michael has urged politicians to “come to the table”.
“While the Blackspot has been successful in reducing the number of serious crashes in troublesome intersections, continued investment is needed if we’re to get safer roads and safer outcomes for greater Brisbane drivers.”
Here’s the top 10 most dangerous intersections in the state. Serious crashes were those involving fatalities or hospitalisation.
