Queensland in the grips of an ‘ice age’: police

South-east Queensland is in the grips of an ‘ice age’ as police battle to find and shut down illegal drug labs manufacturing the dangerous and highly addictive drug ice.

Police have released exclusive vision to 9NEWS showing just how risky these drug labs are.

Brendan Smith from Queensland Police said manufacturing the drug is as easy as baking a cake.

In the past year, Queensland police have discovered more than 321 ice labs.

The sunshine state has the highest rate of drug use in Australia.
