Queensland dad stabbed in front of wife and child in alleged road rage attack

A Queensland father, who was stabbed in an alleged road-rage attack last week, says he is lucky to be alive.

Johnny Duncan, 25, was driving home in Brisbane with his fiancée and eight-month-old daughter when he was allegedly tailgated and harassed by another driver.

Mr Duncan got out of the car to confront the driver when he was allegedly attacked - stabbed in the chest and stomach.

"I saw him speed past and I thought I want to talk to that guy, only because my kid was in the back," Mr Duncan said.

Still recovering in hospital and on oxygen, the father-of-two said he feels lucky to have survived.

"In all honesty I am just happy to be alive," Mr Duncan said.

He was transported to Princess Alexandra Hospital where he underwent six hours of surgery.

Mr Duncan's wife Tiani said the experience was horrific, and she is grateful for her husband's speedy recovery.

"As we looked at each other for the last time as he went into the hospital, that was the scariest moment of both of our lives," she said.

"She saved my life. I cannot owe that girl more, she is my life," Mr Duncan said.

A 21-year old man has been arrested and has been charged with grievous bodily harm.
