Queensland man jailed for 'particularly grubby' attack on tradies

A man has been sentenced to 12 months jail, wholly suspended, over a "particularly grubby" attack on four tradesmen working at a Queensland Hospital.

Brisbane Magistrates Court heard two men were involved in a verbal altercation with tradesmen working at the Prince Charles Hospital on August 28 last year.

Six hours later, Jayden Andrew Cadman went to the hospital, with two others and assaulted the four tradesmen in an unprovoked attack.

A man was fly kicked and punched on the ground during the attack which was caught on CCTV, the court heard.

Magistrate Suzette Coates described the assault as an "unprovoked attack of a vicious gutless kind", telling Cadman his family would be disappointed.

"I can well imagine their incredible disappointment in you as a human."

The court heard Cadman was remorseful and pleaded guilty at the earliest time.

Since the assault he has also undertaken an anger management course.

The now 26 year old spent seven days in custody after his arrest.

He was today handed a 12 month jail sentence wholly suspended and ordered to pay each of the victims $250 in compensation.
