Angler finds live frog in fish's throat

Townsville angler Angus James was pulling the lure out of a jungle perch he had just caught, to release it back into the water, when he found this live green tree frog inside its throat, staring back at him.

"I was shocked. I thought it might have been grass at first, then it blinked," he told News Limited.

Mr James said the frog leapt over his head to escape into a tree just after he snapped this remarkable photo.

"I always carry a camera so I took the pic and then he jumped out," said the professional angler at Tackle Tactics.

The frog encounter happened at the weekend in waters about an hour's north of Townsville, far north Queensland.

Mr Angus sent the photo to Reptiles magazine, which posted it on Facebook, earning 40,000 likes and 2000 comments, such as: "He [the frog] looks like he's smiling. I guess I would be too if I were him."

The photo has also been trending on Reddit.
