Young pair arrested after bungled burglary
A 10-year-old boy and a teenager have been arrested after a bungled burglary at a north Queensland golf shop where a security guard was attacked with a crowbar.
Police say a 17-year-old male and the boy broke into the Proserpine shop about 9pm on Monday night and stole golf equipment.
They were confronted by a security guard, who caught the younger boy and then was attacked by the teenager with a crowbar.
The pair fled to a nearby house where they were later arrested, police say.
The guard suffered minor injuries to his arm and face.
The 17-year-old has been charged with attempted armed robbery with violence and entering a premises with intent and is due to appear in Proserpine Magistrates Court on November 9.
