Woman missing from Qld hinterland prison

Queensland police are searching for a woman who has been missing from a Gold Coast prison since New Year's Eve.

Kristy Jones, 34, absconded from the low-security Numinbah Correctional Centre where she was on remand for drug possession, forgery and breaching bail.

Police believe she may be living at a unit complex in the central Gold Coast area and ask anyone who knows where she is to come forward.
