Woman missing in Far North Queensland found safe

Police have thanked the public for their assistance after a woman who went missing south of Townsville in north Queensland earlier today was found safe and well.

Alligator Creek woman Kathryn Burdell, 62, was last heard from at about 9.15am today.

Police were concerned for her welfare as she suffers from a medical condition.

Officers conducted a land search on a large property and surrounding areas on Allendale Drive in Alligator Creek.
