Woman killed in outback crash

A young woman has died after a driver swerved to miss an animal in outback Queensland.
The 21-year-old was a passenger in a car travelling along the Mitchell Highway, south of Augathella, when the driver, a 22-year-old woman, swerved to avoid the animal and hit a tree around 6:30am.
The passenger died at the scene and the driver has been taken to Charleville Hospital with non-life threatening injuries.
