Woman killed crossing north Qld highway

A woman in her 20s has died after being hit by a car while crossing a highway in far north Queensland.
Police say the woman was struck as a group of pedestrians crossed the Captain Cook Highway at Kewarra Beach, north of Cairns, about 7.15pm on Thursday.
She died at the scene. Police said no one else was physically injured and the forensic crash unit is investigating.
