A 25-year-old woman has been extradited from NSW over the stabbing of a Gold Coast woman last month.

The 36-year-old victim had scolded a group of young people loitering inside the pool area of her Mermaid Beach apartment block after she caught them defacing the property with graffiti.

She followed the group when they left the complex and was stabbed in the back.

On Tuesday, a 25-year-old woman allegedly involved in the attack was arrested in NSW and extradited by Gold Coast detectives.

She's been charged with one count of unlawful wounding and will front the Southport Court on Wednesday.
