Williams faces sack if he lied: Palaszczuk

Embattled Queensland Labor MP Rick Williams will be sacked if he hasn't been completely honest about his past, according to Premier Annastacia Palaszczuk.

Serious allegations of forgery and harassment against Mr Williams made by former employees are being considered by police, but no formal investigation has been launched.

He remains in the Labor Party while the matter is being considered, although Ms Palaszczuk insists the first-term MP will be expelled if he hasn't made a "full and frank disclosure" about his past.

"Absolutely," she said on Tuesday afternoon.

Mr Williams is the second Labor MP to be referred to the police over allegations about their pasts.

Billy Gordon resigned from the party before he could be sacked after admitting to hiding his criminal history during the application process.

Ms Palaszczuk hopes Mr Williams has been honest, but admits her party needs to improve its candidate vetting processes.

"I was determined that we should have good candidates running across this state," she added.

"My members are working hard for the local constituents, but we are going to toughen up our selection processes for the next time."

Ms Palaszczuk denied she was hinting that Labor was planning not to preselect Mr Williams again.
