Two Qld police officers injured in crash

Two police officers have been injured while attempting to pull over a speeding ute in far north Queensland.

The two male officers were in a police vehicle that crashed into a cement barrier as they tried to intercept the white 2012 Holden Commodore on the Bruce Highway near Cairns around 7.20pm on Wednesday.

Both officers were taken to Cairns Hospital with minor injuries, but have been released.
