Man charged with stabbing after suspected supermarket theft
Two men are recovering in hospital after they were allegedly stabbed while confronting a man they thought had stolen from an inner-city Brisbane supermarket.
A 28-year-old man from Gladstone, more than 400 kilometres north in Central Queensland, has been charged with wounding and possessing a knife in public.
Police were called to Grey Street, South Brisbane, about 4pm on Wednesday, after reports of a stabbing.

A man in his 30s, understood to be a security guard, was taken to Princess Alexandra Hospital in a serious but stable condition with wounds to the abdomen after the incident at a shopping centre.
Another man was taken to hospital after being stabbed in the arm.
Police alleged the injured men approached the 28-year-old believing he'd stolen supermarket goods.
A crime scene was also set up at nearby South Bank train station.
The Gladstone man, who allegedly fled the scene before being arrested across the river in Highgate Hill, will face Brisbane Magistrates Court on Thursday.
