Two men face court over Qld bashing

A man and a teenager have faced a Queensland court charged with the bashing of another man which has left him with life-threatening head injuries.

Kawana Renae Pinikera, 36, and a 17-year-old male have been charged with grievous bodily harm following the alleged assault at a party south of Brisbane on Saturday night.

They faced Beenleigh Magistrates Court on Tuesday and have been remanded in custody, with their matters adjourned until May 30.

Police say a 37-year-old man was assaulted by a group of five men in the front yard of a property in Aragon Street, Beenleigh.

It's alleged the group of men fled the scene when other occupants at the residence interrupted the assault.

The man returned to his home in Beenleigh but his condition deteriorated and he was taken to the Princess Alexandra Hospital on Sunday, where he remains in intensive care in a critical condition.
