Four rescued from boat crash off Qld coast

Four people have been rescued after their boats crashed off the coast of Yeppoon in central Queensland.

Police said the yacht and a power catamaran collided at 10.45am, about three kilometres offshore in Keppel Bay.

The yacht was damaged and required towing back to shore, while the other vessel was able to travel back unassisted, police said.

A Queensland Ambulance Service spokeswoman said an adult with a leg injury and a suspected broken thumb is being treated on shore, and will be transported to hospital for further assessment.

A child with back pain is also being treated.
