Twenty-plus witnesses for Cobb committal

Dozens of witnesses to the alleged murder of Queensland child Tyrell Cobb will be examined to determine if the case goes to trial.

The four-year-old died in a Gold Coast hospital in 2009 after he was found unconscious at a Biggera Waters home.

The boy's mother Heidi Strbak and her former partner, Matthew Anthony Ian Scown, are both charged with torture and murder.

The Brisbane Magistrates Court heard on Thursday that 24 witnesses would be called at a committal hearing later this year to determine how the case against the pair would proceed.
