Truck driver trapped in Qld crash

Paramedics are trying to free a truck driver whose vehicle slid down an embankment following a crash in the Gold Coast hinterland.

The truck and another vehicle collided in the remote suburb of Wongawallan about 3pm on Thursday afternoon, causing the truck to slide 15 metres down an embankment and trapping its driver.

"We have all our paramedics and a doctor on scene trying to remove that patient from the vehicle, but it's going to be a long and difficult process," Queensland Ambulance Service supervisor Gavin Fuller said, emphasising the crash occurred amid difficult terrain in a dangerous position.

A man and two women also involved in the crash were taken to Gold Coast University Hospital with minor injuries.
