Trio found after walking out of Qld forest

A man and two children have walked out of bushland in far north Queensland just as authorities were about to continue looking for them.

The man and two boys had gone on a bushwalk at Kuranda near Cairns on Friday but had failed to return to their car by evening.

Police began an immediate land and air search from 9pm but were unable to continue due to heavy fog.

They had been due to recommence searches at first light on Saturday however they were spared the trouble as the trio walked out of bushland and made contact with the search party.

All three are safe and well after their night sleeping rough.
