Gable Tostee denies having cameras in his apartment

The man at the centre of the Gold Coast balcony fall case has denied ever having cameras installed inside his apartment to record sexual encounters.

According to News Corp reports this morning, police seized homemade porn videos from Gable Tostee’s apartment following revelations he had openly boasted online of balcony sex and more than 150 sexual conquests.

Investigators are trying to find clues to the death of Warriena Wright from New Zealand, who fell from his 14^th floor balcony around 2am last Friday.

But today the 28-year-old self-confessed “ladies man” used his Facebook account to deny ever using video equipment to record his sexual encounters, saying he only had cameras set up for security in a previous apartment.

“It seems media outlets are now using this footage that I posted online in 2012 to suggest that I have recorded sexual encounters with women,” he posted today.

“This footage was from a security camera in the living room of my previous apartment at Circle on Cavill in 2012. I only had one other camera in the apartment which was at the front entry facing the door. Neither camera was used to film sexual encounters.

“I had these cameras set up in my old apartment solely for security purposes. The reason I posted this in 2012 was because the girl in the video stole the wallet from my table and I eventually got it back thanks to the footage.”

He added: “I never had any cameras installed in my Avalon apartment nor did I have a “homemade porn collection”.”

Mr Tostee, 28, is believed to be the last person to have seen Ms Wright, 26, alive.

Police are now combing through his mobile phone and other digital equipment.

Mr Tostee met Ms Wright, who was in Australia for a friend's wedding, through dating app Tinder.

He has refused to be interviewed by police in relation to her death and has not been charged.

Yesterday A Current Affair producer Stephanie Angus spoke about her own online encounter with the "bizarre, sleazy and quite frightening" Mr Tostee on Tinder.

"Being a part of the media and hearing about terrible things that happen in everyday life, when it actually, when you have a connection to it, it's quite scary," she said.

She described Mr Tostee's first message to her as "disturbing".

"Roses are red. Violets are blue. I have a gun. Now get in my van," he wrote when he initially contacted her 10 months ago.

Ms Angus broke off contact with the self-confessed "ladies' man" but, by coincidence, she discovered he had also contacted her best friend through the app.

Mr Tostee has maintained his silence to police, but claimed on social media that he was "devastated" over Wright's death and maintained he had not caused her to fall.

His older posts on bodybuilding forums reveal his belief in his own ability as a "ladies' man" as he brags about "picking up" at least 150 women.

Mr Tostee is also no stranger to legal strife.

He is due to face court later this month on charges of assaulting and obstructing police, and public nuisance.
