A 19-year-old man has been charged after a service station owner was almost run down trying to stop a fuel drive off in south-west Queensland.

Owner Clint Weber was working at his service station in Toowoomba on Wednesday when he recognised a car on the shop's security camera feed, as it had allegedly stolen fuel earlier in the week.

CCTV shows Webber standing in front of the car trying to stop the car but Brendan Lawrence Gillmeister allegedly hit the accelerator and collected him on the bonnet.
