Four dead in 24 hours on Queensland roads

Four people including a two-year-old girl have died in 24 hours on Queensland's roads.

The latest fatality, that of a 50-year-old woman, occurred when her four-wheel drive collided head-on with a truck on the Cunningham Highway at Clintonvale just before midday on Saturday.

She was taken to Warwick Hospital but later died.

The toddler killed was struck by a ute leaving the driveway of a property at Blenheim in the Lockyer Valley about 4pm on Friday.

A man then died and four others were injured when a car rolled on the Bruce Highway in Townsville about an hour-and-a-half later.

The 39-year-old passenger was pronounced dead at the scene while those hurt were taken to Townsville Hospital, one of them suffering life-threatening injuries.

Earlier on Friday a 70-year-old man died at Logan when his car hit another vehicle travelling in the opposite direction.

Meanwhile, a 46-year-old cyclist was critically injured when hit by a car late on Friday night on the Gold Coast Highway at Burleigh Heads. He was rushed to Gold Coast University Hospital for treatment.
