HOW LABOR'S BILLY GORDON CRISIS HAS UNFOLDED IN QUEENSLAND:

MARCH 13

- Labor MP Billy Gordon's former partner emails the premier's office claiming he had abused her and dodged paying child support and tax

MARCH 18-19

- Premier Annastacia Palaszczuk's chief of staff tells her about the claims and Ms Palaszczuk refers them to Labor secretary Evan Moorehead

- Mr Moorehead sorts out the child support payments and tells the woman to go to police about the abuse claims

MARCH 20

- The woman emails the same statement to Labor ministers Shannon Fentiman and Leeanne Enoch

- She also sends it to LNP spokeswoman for Aboriginal, Torres Strait Islander and Multicultural Affairs Tarnya Smith

MARCH 24

- Ms Smith urges the woman to take the abuse claims to police and directs her to where she can get assistance

- The woman sends the allegations to the office of Speaker Peter Wellington

MARCH 25

- The woman thanks Ms Smith and says she's the only person to give her an appropriate response

MARCH 26

- The Speaker's staff bring up the allegations with Mr Wellington hours before parliament sits for its first debate of the term on a confidence motion in the Palaszczuk government

- Mr Wellington immediately replies to the woman's email, telling her he's extremely busy and to be patient until he receives proper advice

- The Speaker asks the Clerk of Parliament, Neil Laurie, for advice on how he should act upon the woman's claims

MARCH 27

- Mr Gordon votes in a confidence motion supporting the Labor government

- The Courier-Mail outlines the MP's failure to pay child support

- Mr Gordon makes a statement to parliament apologising for his past problems

- Opposition Leader Lawrence Springborg asks the premier if she has confidence in the Member for Cook

- The premier tells parliament: "The issue has been dealt with and the member has made a personal explanation"

- Later in the day the abuse allegations are published on former LNP MP Gavin King's blog

- Ms Palaszczuk refers the allegations to Police Commissioner Ian Stewart

MARCH 29

- Mr Gordon lists his criminal convictions on Facebook and apologises for not disclosing his past

- Speaker Peter Wellington calls for him to resign from parliament

- The premier announces she has written to Mr Moorehead requesting Mr Gordon be expelled from the party, and also calls for Mr Gordon to resign from parliament

MARCH 30

- Mr Gordon resigns from the Labor party, but refuses to resign from parliament

- The premier again calls for him to resign so there can be a by-election in Cook.

MARCH 31

- The Australian reports a second woman has made domestic violence allegations against Mr Gordon

- The Courier-Mail reports that Mr Gordon's former partner also took the allegations to Speaker Peter Wellington

- Both the premier and opposition spend the day campaigning in the electorate of Cook

- Mr Wellington furiously defends his actions, saying Mr Gordon's former partner may be being used to destabilise the government

- Police Commissioner Ian Stewart confirms the second woman's allegations of abuse against Mr Gordon are being investigated

- The premier claims "the LNP's hand" is in the Gordon crisis

- Neil Laurie releases his advice to Mr Wellington saying Mr Gordon cannot be kicked out of parliament and is legally allowed to vote unless he is convicted
