Teen suffers suspected broken eye socket and nose after wild mass brawl at Schoolies

A teen celebrating Schoolies Week on the Gold Coast has suffered a suspected broken eye socket and nose during a wild brawl.

The fight was one of a number to break-out in the main party precinct last night.

Tables were sent flying during a scrap outside an Irish pub on Cavill Avenue at around 10pm which reportedly began when two female revellers began assaulting each other.

The young man was injured after a second brawl broke out around 2am, with police called after reports of several teens throwing punches.

At least ten school-leavers were caught up in the fight.

The incident on night three of the yearly event marred what police said had been a well-behaved start to proceedings.

Meanwhile, two 17-year-olds have been charged with drug offences after police uncovered a haul of ecstasy tablets at a Surfers Paradise hotel yesterday.

The Ipswich pair will face court at a later date.
