Gold Coast MP's office evacuated after receiving suspicious letter containing white powder

A Gold Coast building has been evacuated after an envelope containing white powder was sent to the office of federal MP Karen Andrews.
An worker in the MP for McPherson's office opened the letter this morning.

Two staff members reportedly came into contact with the powder.
A police spokesman confirmed emergency services officers were called to the Varsity Lakes address about 8.30am (AEST).
Scientific officers from Queensland Fire and Rescue have assessed the contents of the package and found no harmful substances.
Staff have since returned to work.
