Southport courthouse safe after evacuation

A courthouse on the Gold Coast has been briefly evacuated following a hoax.

The ground floor of the Southport courthouse was cleared out on Wednesday morning, but has since reopened.

It's unclear exactly what sparked the evacuation, with a police spokeswoman only saying a hoax was to blame.
