A second Queensland police officer in a week has been nabbed for drink driving.

The 45-year-old sergeant from the Road Policing Command was off-duty when he allegedly returned a blood alcohol reading of 0.133 early Saturday morning but has not been stood down.

Last Sunday another off-duty officer was pulled over on the M1 and returned a blood-alcohol reading of 0.192.

However police would not divulge the officer's gender or where between the NSW border and the Sunshine Coast they were stopped.

The Road Policing Command officer has been issued with a notice to appear in the Ipswich Magistrates Court on August 22.

Police say because they informed the public of the alleged mid-range driving offence, it does not mean that the allegation has been substantiated.
