Two dead in central Queensland crashes

A woman has died after being thrown from her car in central Queensland.

Police say she died after suffering head injuries in the single vehicle rollover at McKenzie, west of Rockhampton, just before 8am on Friday.

Paramedics are treating four children who were also in the car.

The fatality follows that of a man whose truck plunged down a 40m cliff on Gladstone Monto Road at Kalpowar late on Thursday night.

Police said the driver died at the scene and rescue crews had begun an operation to recover the vehicle.
